Donna Furman Biography

Donna Furman has 35 years experience as a consultant and copywriter in marketing and direct marketing.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she began her career at Fingerhut Corporation where she learned direct marketing copy from some of the greats. She has also held marketing director or creative director positions at GEICO Financial Services, Hart Publications (a division of Phillips Publishing), and G.A. Wright Marketing.

She has produced successful programs for business-to-business, consumer and non-profit organizations in virtually every industry: travel and leisure, consumer products, financial institutions, telecomm and pay TV, publishing (online and paper), energy, high tech, museums, associations and other non-profits, real estate, business services, health care, and educational institutions, to name just a few.

A frequent speaker and direct marketing coach, she currently teaches the direct marketing certification program for the Rocky Mountain Direct Marketing Association. In 1991, the Association named her the first recipient of its highest honor, the Direct Marketer of the Year Award.
